Born in Taiwan. I-Uen studied painting under her father Tsan-Tien Wang one of Taiwan's leading oil painters. Tsan-Tien Wang (1938-1990) is known for his works of Taiwan's historical buildings and landscapes. Many of his works are exhibited at the National Museum of Taiwan.
I-Uen received her MA and subsequently Ph.D in Music Composition, from University of Pennsylvania. I-Uen is not only talented in painting as her life long tutor had led her into the world of creativity with sensitivity. Her liberating strength in art has directed her into the craft of music composition. She has already composed numerous pieces. Some of her works have received the Halstead Prize, and many other awards.
In her recent still life watercolors, the resemblance to her father's semi-abstract style is evident. Currently, she is studying under Frank O'Cain at the Art Student League in New York City.
